Organic at Beiñ: The Touch of Spain's discussion about Slow Fashion

May 8, 2013

This past Friday, I had the opportunity to speak at the Slow Fashion roundtable discussion as organized by Beiñ: The Touch of Spain and hosted by GGrippo in Williamsburg.

My bus was almost double the normal travel time, due to a late departure and hitting traffic, which was an example of how it is not healthy to be stressed by the things out of your control. Everyone was understanding, except for my cab driver who didn't realize I didn't want to be fashionably late, and I was thankful for that. It was an interesting discussion and presentation, with panelists and audience members alike focusing on the importance of handmade, slow, sustainable and ethical fashion, especially as a response to the recent building collapse in Bangladesh. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to network as a representative of Organic by John Patrick and am excited to keep in touch with the like-minded people I met.
