Earlier tonight, I attended a collage night at Tiger Trap Studio in Troy. A collage night is exactly what it sounds like, and I am happy to have finally been able to attend. I absolutely love the idea of a hosted craft night, and collage-making is something that everyone can do with ease, regardless of self-acclaimed artistic or creative skill. It's also a really great idea to get different people together, and with a laid back goal of the night - to make a collage!
I've always enjoyed sorting through old (and new) magazines and catalogs and can remember back to my days of cutting up teen magazines for collages for my bedroom wall when I was younger. I used to study design and composition through magazine layouts specifically, so it was especially nice to revisit that old hobby of mine. I don't consider myself to be an artist but I like to think that I do have some creative bones in my body, so collaging is a perfect hobby for me.
Thank you to Ira Marks, of Witch Knots and Caroline Corrigan for hosting!
