Live music witnessed in 2014

December 30, 2014

Keeping up with a recent tradition, I have been keeping a little log of all of the live music acts I've checked out in a given year's time. So easy to forget if you don't keep track. My 2014 list ended up being a lot shorter than my list from 2013, but I think this is due to a shift in my music/routines, as well as due to being unemployed for half of the year. With 2015 a mere 31 hours away, I am hoping to get out there a little bit more, but we'll see. All about quality these days, with a blend of local & nationally touring acts.

New year, new job!

December 27, 2014

Since getting laid off in June, 2014 has proven to be quite a difficult time of transition for me on several levels, both personally & professionally.

Beyond excited to share that I'll be starting fresh in 2015 and will be contributing to the world of HIP HOP/MUSIC JOURNALISM for a media company based out of NYC. Being a freelancer is terrifying but I'd say this path chose me. I'm ready to put the work in.

Thank you to all my friends and family who bought me dinner or drinks when I had $2 left in my bank account, offered me freelance opportunities ranging from resume help to musician bios to watching their pets, and to all those who have supported me by reading my writing. It doesn't go unnoticed or unappreciated.

Supporting the #TreeFAM

December 21, 2014

Last night, my friends over at Some Girls Get High and Tree Shurts invited me to drop by a product photoshoot at the new local sneaker spot High Off Kicks, located on Lark Street in Albany. Although the store has been open for about 6-7 months now, I was inexcusably late on welcoming them to my neighborhood, as this was my first shop visit. After catching up briefly with the #TreeFAM, the camera was spontaneously handed to me and it was time to get down to work! I don't have the opportunity to use a real camera that often these days and always enjoy taking advantage of when those rare moments do come up. So much fun. I'm confident in saying we ended up with some awesome shots and fun candids, but that's easy to accomplish with such good looking friends modeling. I really am considering investing in a camera into the new year.

Be sure to pay a visit to all the homies involved, stock up on some dope gear and peep our photos on all collective company instagram accounts. I 100% foresee a bunch of reposting of this photoset going on! Happy holidaze!
